Aims: The aim of this study day is to provide an opportunity for health care assistants to increase their awareness and understanding of how the palliative care can enhance end of life care for patients and their families
Content:
  • Role of the Health Care Assistant within the Care Team
  • Basic communication skills
  • Coping with patients and families who are distressed
  • How do we recognise when someone is dying
  • Managing common symptoms at the end of life
Assessment:

This study day will be facilitated by staff from Northern Ireland Hospice
