Education and Research are key activities within Northern Ireland Hospice. Our experienced multidisciplinary education and specialist clinical team offer a varied programme which provides a range of high quality learning opportunities in the form of study days and workshops, to meet the needs of those involved in providing palliative and end of life care.
The education department are pleased to offer the following eight week distance learning courses for busy professionals European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care and the Northern Ireland Hospice Certificate in Essential Palliative Care for Allied Health Professionals which are evaluated highly by those who have undertaken them.

What to Do Where is Nothing to Do: Practical Support for Health Professionals Caring for Patients when the Curative and Treatment Options are limited - Friday 31 January 2012
This study day/afternoon will draw on the experience of a number of different health care professionals who regularly travel alongside patients for whom cure is no longer an option, and will highlight particular skills, attitudes and knowledge which have proved to be practically helpful for busy professionals seeking to engage with such patients. This study day should be of interest to health care professionals, doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains and allied health professionals who are involved with patients approaching the end-of-life in both the community and hospital setting.
