Education and Research are key activities within Northern Ireland Hospice. Our experienced multidisciplinary education and specialist clinical team offer a varied programme which provides a range of high quality learning opportunities in the form of study days, masterclasses, workshops and certificate courses, to meet the needs of those involved in providing palliative and end of life care and to ensure the delivery of good quality person centred care.
In addition, bespoke packages are available to meet health professionals' educational needs in response to the Palliative & End of Life Strategy for Northern Ireland 'Living Matters Dying Matters' five domains.
If you would like us to provide customised training to staff within your setting or help you develop your own in- service training packages on palliative or end of life care, we are able to develop tailor made courses to suit your individual team's needs.
Our courses range from half day sessions to two or three day courses and distance learning programmes and attract a wide range of participants from volunteers to experienced health care professionals.
Following the establishment and launch of NI Hospice 'Learning Matters' e-learning we now have the potential to reach an online learning community with the provision of further education and research opportunities and the prospect of sharing online learning resources to support our programmes.
From October 2012 courses will be delivered in a state-of-the-art lecture theatre in Northern Ireland Hospice's new temporary education and research facilities located at Jennymount Business Park, Belfast.
